AssetRelay is the division of Simbol Test Systems inc. specializing in the refurbishing and sales of second hand Telecom Test Equipment; mostly optical.  It was created in July 2002 following the “Telecom balloon burst” in response to the difficult times in selling new equipment which is the main activity of Simbol Test Systems.

Following its creation, AssetRelay developed solid commercial relationship with large corporations in the Ottawa area namely Nortel, JDSU and Flextronics Canada. The business model adopted at AssetRelay, from day one, was to be a real stocking distributor of refurbished, fully tested and warranted, equipment. To meet that target, all revenues generated by AssetRelay were reinvested into inventory leading it to become, by 2006, the largest stock holder of used Telecom products in the world.

In 2005, Simbol moved its operations in its own purchased building. Making good use of the additional space, a focus was put on building better and faster service abilities. Today, Simbol / AssetRelay not only refurbishes the product it resells but acts as a repair and refurbishing service center for a number of North-American rental and resale companies.
